Diese kleine Geschichte fiel mir heute beim Aufräumen in die Hand. Am 8.12.2019 hatte ich sie aus der Verpackung von chinesischem Gebäck herausgeschnitten und in meine Sammlung gelegt.

Sweetheart cake

In ancient China there once was a very happily married couple. Unfortunately the husband’s father was dying so the wife sold herself in order to pay for her father-in-law’s treatment. Upon losing his wife, the husband did not let his sorrow bring him down. Instead he focused on producing delicious cakes. His cakes were so delicious that he became very successful. He was able to earn enough money to buy back his wife and they lived happily ever after. As a resultat, this traditional Chinese cake was termed “Sweetheart Cake”
